The issue of safety and use of abandoned, unfinished buildings and objects in the territory of the Republic was raised by Makeyevka resident Valentina Karpova in the course of the live call-in show with Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin. According to the correspondent of the DPR official website, such facilities have been out of service for a long time due to the lack of balance holders or owners, deteriorate and also often cause of fire and emergency situations.

“There are a number of unfinished projects that can and should be completed. Nobody has abolished the right to private property, it is enshrined in the Constitution. Certain mechanisms instructing how to act in such cases are being elaborated by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Utilities. It is advisable to take an inventory of such buildings throughout the Republic and write down a detailed solution for each of them,” Denis Pushilin said.

The Head of the Republic proposed to return to this issue in March 2020.

“To date, the Ministry of Construction has created a register of such unfinished buildings, we have a data-base, and now we are working on the procedure applicable in such cases,” DPR Minister of Construction, Housing and Public Utilities Sergey Naumets added.
