A scheduled meeting of the Contact Group has been launched in Minsk. According to the press office of the DPR Foreign Affairs Ministry, the issues addressed in the framework of the relevant subgroups have been submitted for discussion.
The tasks set following the Normandy Four summit has become the main topics on the agenda of the security subgroup. The negotiators have discussed a number of issues related to ensuring a stable ceasefire through additional measures to strengthen and control the current permanent truce, as well as the consequences of its violation by the AFU. In addition, the work has continued on a supplement to the Framework Decision, which will enable to take into account the necessary aspects of the forces and assets’ disengagement process in the coordination of new sectors.
The issues of concern that had remained unresolved after the recent detainees’ swap have become the main focus of discussion in the humanitarian subgroup.
The negotiators of the economic subgroup have discussed the issues of water supply to the DPR and LPR, along with those of welfare-payment arrears to citizens of the Republics.
The work of the political subgroup has been focused on the discussion of a number of practical issues concerning the special status of Donbass, its formalization in the Ukrainian constitution, and the discussion of the further development of other regulatory and legal acts arising from it.
