The social situation catches up gradually in the DPR, while the standard of living is rapidly decreasing in Ukraine, chief of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement’s Central Executive Committee Alexey Muratov stated.
“The unprecedentedly high salaries, even according to international standards, as well as premiums and recompenses, which the new Ukrainian authorities set for themselves, have become even heavier burden to ordinary Ukrainians. At the same time, premier Goncharuk and his ministers concern only about how to pitch a line to the Ukrainian nation sliding into poverty, as well as to president Zelensky, who is quite satisfied with this approach of the Cabinet, as it turns out.
While they sell the Ukrainians fictions about economic growth, the State Statistics Service has published the real data on price changes. Those statistics are nothing short of shocking.
Thus, over the past nine years, the prices for consumer goods and services throughout Ukraine have been increased almost three times. Utility services have risen by 440%, transport by 212%, education by 147%, medicine by 146%, food by 139%. The list goes on and on, but it shows only one thing — the collapse of the economy and a critical decrease in the living standards.
At the same time, the Donetsk People’s Republic, despite the hard conditions of the ongoing armed and political confrontation and economic blockade, successfully follows the path of overcoming the manifestations of crisis. In particular, the prices for basic consumer goods of the market basket in the Republic are 10-30% lower than in Ukraine, 2-6 times lower for transport, public utility rates differ nearly as much. It should be added that the minimum pension in the DPR has exceeded the Ukrainian one by 12% this year, and the prospect of further increases has already been mapped out by the Head of State for two years in advance.
It becomes obvious that the path the residents of Donbass chose in 2014 turns out to be much more promising than the “European” choice of Ukraine. And Zelensky’s team of illusionists, either because of their incompetence or the wicked scheme of their Western handlers, hammer the last nail in the coffin of the future of the country, which once used to be prosperous. Prosperous when it was a part of our common Great Motherland,” Alexey Muratov stated.
