Residents of Staromikhailovka have prepared claims to be further submitted to the European Court of Human Rights with a demand for compensation for the damage suffered due to the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Such a statement arrived following the meeting by the Public Commission on Assessing the Economic Damage Caused by Ukraine.
“Today, a regular meeting was held, in the course of which there were considered applications from three residents of the frontline village of Staromikhailovka, the Maryinsky District. The applicants’ houses in each individual case have been either partially damaged or completely destroyed due to the armed aggression by the AFU,” the statement says.
It is specified that it is about the residential building at 8b Dalnevostochnaya Street, 2 Shevchenko Street, and 13 Lenina Street.
“The packages of documents to appeal to the ECHR are completely ready, and the claims will be submitted to the court in the near future. The compensation claimed by the applicants totalled 1.42 million rubles,” Anastasia Butorkina, the Chairperson of the Public Commission, said.
As will be recalled, the Public Commission on Assessing the Economic Damage Caused by Ukraine was established in Donetsk. The decision was made by an initiative group of DPR and LPR residents at a public meeting. The commission comprises 19 persons.
