On the morning of January 22, in Donetsk there took place a requiem rally dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the tragedy in the Leninsky district of the city, a correspondent of the DPR Official Website reports.
The rally was attended by Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin, Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, Deputy Chairperson of the DPR Government Tatyana Pereverzeva, deputies, heads of ministries and agencies of the Republic, and Head of the Donetsk City Council Alexey Kulemzin. Hundreds of people of different ages came to honor the memory of the innocent civilians fallen in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
As will be recalled, five years ago, at 8:37 a.m., Ukrainian forces fired on the Dongormash Plant public transport stop. As a result of this terrorist attack, 13 civilians were killed and about 20 persons suffered injuries.
“There are war crimes that feature outstanding cynicism and ruthlessness. Today is a day of remembrance of one of them. Five years ago, a terrible tragedy occurred, but it was staged. This was the work of people who had once lived with us in the same state. Ukrainian saboteurs fired intentionally, knowing that at that time there were a lot of people at the bus stop. Did the central authority know about this? Alas, they knew! And we need no illusions in this regard. Both the previous Kiev regime and the new one just hate the people of Donbass!
We must remember all the crimes committed against Donbass people. We gather here every year to honor the memory of perished civilians and to remember and support those who were injured and affected here. We must be aware that this is our common tragedy. We have no right to forget about it, and we must bend every effort to prevent this from happening in the future.
There are no words that could comfort the families and friends of the deceased. Eternal memory to the dead!” Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin said.
According to DPR People’s Council Chairman Vladimir Bidyovka, Ukrainian war criminals killed civilians 5 years ago.
“There is no way this crime can be justified! They say that time heals, but being here, we understand that it won’t work this way. Too many civilians have perished in this war, too many soldiers have laid down their lives, making the roll back impossible. We have no right to forget about them! They must always remain in our memory, we must always take care of their families. And remembering them, we do not have the right to turn off the path we took in 2014. Our goal is peace, truth, and Russia! Eternal memory to all those who died!” he emphasized.
According to Head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement Alexey Muratov, the civilians who perished on January 22, 2015 were killed precisely by the terrorist attack of Ukrainian war criminals.
“Those who gave the order, and those who opened fire, knew perfectly well that they were targeting the civilian population, that they were killing women, children, elderly people who had no idea of what was coming. Having received a setback from our militia, the enemy demonstrated its cunning, vile and hypocritical nature.
We have defended the memory of our ancestors, we have not allowed to rewrite our history, we have asserted our right to speak Russian. I am sure that we will prosecute these war criminals. We will win economically by proving that integration with the Russian Federation is the only and right way,” he said.
At the mourning rally, an eyewitness to those terrible events, Vladislav Tkachenko, read his new poem on the tragedy in the Bosse subdistrict.
Those present observed one minute of silence in tribute to the dead. A funeral service was held at the site of the tragedy. The requiem rally participants laid flowers at the obelisk which was unveiled at the scene of the tragedy on January 22, 2016.
