The processes of the DPR’s integration with Russia are significantly expanding — DPR public official

According to the General Directorate for Migration of the Internal Affairs Ministry of the Russian Federation, about 280 thousand residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics were able to acquire Russian citizenship in 2019. Alexei Muratov, the Head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement commented on this fact.

“The historical choice made by the people of Donbass in 2014 amid the coup in Ukraine determined the further development vector. It became the foundation and core of our struggle, determined the prospects for development.

The Donetsk Republic Public Movement as a leading political force in the DPR is committed to fully contributing to the implementation of the citizens’ will to live in a friendly family of the fraternal peoples of the Russian world. “Our choice is Russia!” is not a DRPM’s slogan only, but a guide to action.

The processes of economic, social and cultural integration with the Russian Federation have been only expanding and deepening in recent years. The possibility of obtaining a Russian passport is one of the key steps along this path, which is of great political and humanitarian significance. It restores the rights of our citizens, who were infringed by the absence of international recognition and blockade by Ukraine. It demonstrates the consistency and commitment of the country’s leadership to the course chosen by the people.

It should be noted that the Helping Hand Charity Fund assists residents of the frontline localities of the Donetsk People’s Republic in the implementation of this cherished dream. The Fund has already paid state fees for obtaining a Russian passport for the first 100 people. A total of more than 1,000 applications have been received in the month since the launch of the relevant support programme.

For its part, the Donetsk Republic Public Movement also provides every possible assistance in implementing the historical choice of the people of Donbass.
