The January 29 meeting of the economic group was quite intense. The negotiators managed to raise and discuss all the issues on the agenda to some extent, the DPR Foreign Affairs Ministry reports.
They focused on Ukraine’s arrears in social payments to the citizens. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian position remains unchanged yet, there is no progress in the necessary elaboration of the legal framework.
Having discussed humanitarian issues, the negotiators realized that for all future exchanges, it is necessary to implement the principle: procedural clearance first, then the exchange.
Due to the fact that this principle was not implemented in the previous exchanges, the issues concerning the documents of the persons exchanged still remain unsolved.
