Winston Dan Vogel, an American conductor, will perform a concert, Symphonic Hits of America, together with the Academic Symphony Orchestra named after S. Prokofiev. It will take place at the Donetsk Philharmonic Hall on February 1. According to a correspondent of the DPR Official Website, Director of the Donetsk State Academic Philharmonic Hall Alexander Paretsky and the maestro himself announced that on January 30 during the press conference.
“We want to announce a concert, which will take place on February 1 at the Prokofiev Donetsk State Academic Philharmonic Hall. The event is extraordinary for us, as it will feature music by classical American composers such as Paul Creston, Samuel Barber, George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein.
The program has never been performed in Donetsk before, and this is the first time our orchestra is familiarizing itself with those works. The concert is also unique thanks to the fact that the program is being prepared by renowned American conductor Winston Dan Vogel. His visit to us proves that music has no limits and can overcome any obstacles,” Alexander Paretsky stressed.
According to Mr. Vogel, music carries goodness and positive energy, so wherever he gives a concert, he always tries to get creative.
“I always enjoy invitations to concerts, and this time is no exception. When I come and start working on an orchestra, I do everything in my power to make sure the concert sounds the best,” the conductor said.
