On March 31, the first ever case of the coronavirus infection has been registered in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the DPR Ministry of Health reports.
On March 19, a resident of the Donetsk People’s Republic arrived from the Russian Federation, Moscow, by private vehicle with her husband and little son born 2017.
On March 24, she felt unwell and on March 29 called the hotline of the DPR Ministry of Health, whose employees sent an ambulance and she was hospitalized at the infectious disease department. The patient had the following symptoms: coughing, rhinorrhea, fever 37.4 °C (99.32 °F), anosmia and vomiting.
The patient is feeling well now, her temperature is normal and she is getting all necessary treatment.
“The patient is unemployed, contacted a limited number of people. Apart from her husband and son, she was in contact with her 9-year-old daughter and her parents. They are all hospitalized, we will be sure to inform you about their coronavirus test results.
We draw your attention to the fact that the measures organized in the Republic have worked out in this case (the hotline of the Ministry of Health, as well as remote teaching of schoolchildren), therefore, the patient’s daughter has not been in contact with other children.
At the moment, all possible contacts of this family are being identified for further isolation and testing.
Once again, we remind you of the need to follow all the recommendations of the Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection,” the Ministry of Health stated.
