As of April 3, two cases of COVID-19 confirmed by laboratory tests have been registered in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The condition of both patients is satisfactory, DPR Health Minister Olga Dolgoshapko informs.
“Yesterday, on April 2, Head of the DPR signed Decree 70, which obliges citizens who have arrived in the Republic to immediately seek medical care from home at first signs of respiratory illness without visiting health care institutions, as well as to observe a 14-day self-isolation. The rules of self-isolation are described in detail in leaflets of the Ministry of Health. There are distributed in public spaces and on the Internet.
The decree also introduces a range of restrictive measures for citizens, including those employed,” the Minister of Health explained.
She also noted that a total of 11,087 people are under observation. Of them, 141 people are at in-patient units, 10,946 are self-isolating at home (those who crossed the border between March 27 and April 2). The Ministry of Health is monitoring the epidemiological situation.
The Minister of Health urged the citizens of the Republic to observe rules of personal hygiene and in-home self-isolation and avoid mass gatherings, as coronavirus infection is transmitted through common air usage. You also should take care of your relatives over 65 years of age, provide them with necessary foodstuffs, medications and personal supplies to keep them home.
We remind that the Ministry of Health has a hotline working in the Republic, you can contact it by calling a shot number 277 via Phoenix mobile communications provider or by landline phone (062) 303-27-72. The hotline received 750 calls in the past 24 hours.
At the first signs of any acute respiratory viral infection (fever, coughing, rhinorrhea, especially labored breathing) you ought to immediately call a physician, who will come home to you. Depending on the symptoms, the doctor will decide whether to leave the patient for home treatment or hospitalize. Remember, self-medication can harm your health.
