Today, on April 3, the Investigations Division of the DPR Prosecutor General’s Office has opened and started investigating criminal cases against the following brigade commanders: 24th AFU separate mechanized brigade, M. Marchenko; 54th separate mechanized brigade, A. Maistrenko; 59th separate motorized infantry brigade, G. Shapovalov, as well as military personnel subordinate to them, for committing terrorist acts under Article 229, Section 2 (a), (c) of the DPR Criminal Core, the press service of the law enforcement agency reports.
It was established that on April 2, 2020, military personnel of the 24th separate mechanized brigade, on the orders of their commander M. Marchenko, shelled the Kuibyshevsky and Petrovsky Districts of Donetsk with mortars. The shelling of the Kuibyshevsky District resulted in damage to windows in apartment 57 at 15 Zhukova Street, windows in the Gornjak community center at 30A Ugolnaya Street; outbuildings of houses at 12/2, 16, 18 and 20 Zaboishikov Street. A pipeline in the boiler house at 32 Ugolnaya Street is also damaged. Windows in apartment 18 at 86 Kosareva Street were also damaged during the shelling of the Petrovsky District by the military of the above-mentioned brigade.
On April 2, 2020, military personnel of the 54th separate mechanized brigade, on the orders of their commander A. Maistrenko, shelled the Kalininsky District of Gorlovka with mortars. Car, garage and a house at 137 Utesova Street are damaged.
On the same day, military personnel of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade, on the orders of their commander G. Shapovalov, launched a mortar attack on the urban-type village of Zaytsevo in the Nikitovsky District of Gorlovka. An outbuilding and windows in the house at 19 Karbysheva Street are damaged.
