In view of the threat of the coronavirus infection spread, in the pharmacies of the Donetsk People’s Republic, there is observed a shortage of medical masks, disinfectants, as well as a rise in medicines’ prices. Minister of Revenues and Taxes Yevgeny Lavryonov, in an interview with a correspondent of the DPR Official Website, spoke about measures to address these problems.
“Today we experience certain difficulties due to the fact that the Russian Federation has limited or prohibited the export of a number of disinfectants, personal protective gear, as well as materials for their production, from its territory. We are searching for solutions to these problems.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has coordinated work with republican manufacturers to produce of personal protective gear, namely masks. In addition to that, in the territory of the Republic there are produced disinfectants. Today, every possible measure is taken to increase production capacities, and price levels are monitored.
As for medicines, deliveries to the Republic from the territory of Russia have not been ceased. Unfortunately, due to the complicated situation, the exchange rate is growing, some medications are getting more expensive. Nevertheless, the margin is controlled, it is determined by the Government Decree, private pharmacies are inspected for the trade margin and its validity,” Yevgeny Lavryonov said.
As will be recalled, in the Republic there is operating a hotline of the DPR Ministry of Revenues and Taxes, which should be contacted to report the facts of overpricing of food, non-food basic necessities, and medicines.
