New criminal proceedings have been initiated against AFU commanders

The Investigation Department of the DPR Prosecutor General’s Office is investigating two files within to criminal cases against A.V. Mishanchuk, the Commander of the 57th separate motorized infantry AFU brigade, and G.N. Shapovalov, the Commander of the 59th separate motorized infantry AFU brigade, along with the military subordinate to them, into the fact of commission of terrorist acts, constituting a crime under Article 229, Section 2 (a), (c) of the DPR Criminal Code, the press service of the law-enforcement agency reports today, on April 8.

It has been established that on 7 April 2020 military of the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade, at the order of Commander A.V. Mishanchuk, carried out a mortar shelling of Spartak village in the Yasinovatsky district, causing damage to a residential building at 43 Chapayeva Street.

In addition to that, on 6 April 2020, military of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade, at the order of Commander G.N. Shapovalov, engaged mortar fire at the Gagarin mine’s village in the Nikitovsky district of Gorlovka, causing damage to the glazing of a residential building at 2 Polosukhina Street.
