Specialists of the Regional Energy Supply Company had to deploy 11 units of special equipment all at the same time to remedy in one day all damage caused to the energy system during the massive firing by Ukraine’s armed formations on the western suburbs of Donetsk, the Ministry of Coal and Energy’s press service reports.
Kiev militants seriously damaged the 35 kV Chekist substation with their attacks: shell fragments damaged the transformer, the 35kV input was destroyed, the radiator broken, oil completely leaked out. In addition, wires were broken and broomed between several spans, insulators of two power lines broken (35kV Abakumova — Chekist line, 6kV Chekist — KTP-1470 line and there branch lines), the 0.4 kV low-voltage power line at Zhukovskogo Street, Staromikhaylovka, sustained numerous breaks.
The locality was partially left without electricity, 600 household users, 9 electrical substations and the 35kV Chekist substation suffered an outage.
Emergency repair crews from two subdivisions of the Regional Energy Supply Company (Kirovsky and Donetsk grids) accompanied by the company’s tactical response team and with the direct participation of monitors from the Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination fully carried out the package of repair works.
Fortunately, there were no provocations from the Ukrainian side, and the electricians fixed all the damage at 16:00, household users who suffered the outage got power back.
The power supply to Staromikhaylovka is working normally now.
