An emergency statement from the official representative of the DPR People’s Militia following the latest Ukrainian attack has been issued today, on April 24.
“This morning, militants of the 59th separate mechanised infantry brigade under Commander Shapovalov engaged 120mm mortars at South Zaitsevo, firing eight shells at peaceful neighbourhoods.
As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out in a residential building at 25 Rudnev Street. The fire has been extinguished so far.
It is important to note that the Ukrainian terrorists were adjusting the mortar shelling with the use of an unmanned aerial vehicle, which only confirms the criminal nature of the militants’ actions.
Through the skilful and coordinated actions of personnel of the air defence units and electronic warfare squads of the Mantiya-ARP Unified Integrated Protection System, the Ukrainian drone was landed by means of the Triton-M1 electronic warfare station.
The shelling was ceased immediately after our defenders had blocked the UAV’s operation.
Our experts are currently examining information from the UAV’s memory card.
We urge international observers to record the fact of the commission of another war crime by the armed formations of Ukraine, to investigate and prosecute the perpetrators.”
