Today, on May 26, on the sixth anniversary of the first-ever air strike of the armed forces of Ukraine on Donetsk, Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin laid flowers at the Monument to Citizens of the Donetsk People’s Republic, which is located in the Lenin Komsomol Municipal Park, the DPR Head’s Administration reports.
Denis Pushilin paid tribute to the memory of those killed by the Ukrainian aggression and stressed that Kiev committed a war crime that does not fall under statute of limitations, having given the order to bombard civilians. They have only been increasing the account of their atrocities since then.
“May 26, 2014 is not just a date when Kiev unleashed a war against the mining capital of Donbass. This is the date when the Ukrainian authorities gave the order to use combat aircraft against civilians, gave the order to bombard the innocent people. These are the war crimes that do not fall under statute of limitations. I am sure the moment will come when all those responsible carry a punishment.
Thanks to the moral courage of our citizens, thanks to the heroic feat of the militiamen, we did the main thing, we withstood. We have been building peace for six years now while being at war.
Now we are seeing again that the enemy is trying to escalate the conflict, but the People’s Militia has all the capabilities at the moment and all the appropriate orders to give an adequate response,” the DPR Head said.
We shall remind you that the monument to the citizens of the Republic who fell victim to the Ukrainian army’s attacks was erected on August 28, 2015.
