Yesterday at 18:55, a civilian in Aleksandrovka was killed during the shelling by the AFU, Chief of the DPR Representative Office to the JCCC Ruslan Yakubov commented on the actions of Ukrainian militants.
“Despite that fact that the DPR Representative Office to the JCCC repeatedly requested ceasefire from the Ukrainian side to evacuate the body of the victim and despite the direct involvement of the OSCE SMM as a mediator to the negotiation process, the armed forces of Ukraine did not cease provocative fire when the evacuation group tried to approach the place of death of the man until nightfall.
In addition, two civilians also came under fire, they were forced to hide all night from the shelling in an abandoned pig farm building.
Security guarantees were obtained from the Ukrainian side only in the morning to enforce the ceasefire. The victim and two civilians were evacuated from the scene by the DPR People’s Militia at 8:40, after which the AFU again started firing at Aleksandrovka with SPGs.
When targeting civilians of the Republic, the AFU command continues to justify its war crimes by claiming that they allegedly react against firing-points of the People’s Militia.
The enemy is making more and more savage and inhuman attempts to destabilize the situation, trying to provoke return fire from the defenders of the Republic.
Ukraine with special cynicism ignored both our requests for evacuation of the victim and civilians who came under fire, and the mediating role of the OSCE SMM.
The AFU continue not only to attack the Republic every day by using weapons prohibited by the Minsk Agreements, but also violate the approved mechanisms of security guarantees.
Ukraine has repeatedly disregarded the agreements reached and international obligations under the Minsk negotiation process. This situation emerged due to the inaction of the western guarantor countries, which also allow Kiev not to give security guarantees for repair and restoration work to the water main in Yelenovka amid the COVID-19 epidemic for more than half a year.
We can state that such connivance to the aggressive actions of the Ukrainian government will completely destroy the mechanisms of interaction, which will directly affect the lives of people living at the line of contact.
We hope that the guarantor countries of the Minsk process and international organizations will assume a proactive stance and will get the Ukrainian side back to effective interaction within the negotiation process to make them comply with the ceasefire commitments,” Ruslan Yakubov stated.
