Militants from the 137th battalion of the 35th brigade shelled the village of Gagarin Mine with 120mm and 82mm mortars, having fired 39 shells. According to updates, the shelling resulted in casualties among the civilian population, the press service of the DPR People’s Militia Directorate reports.
“After the Ukrainian drone that was adjusting the mortar shelling was destroyed, militants lost bearings and continued firing at random, as the result of which several shells hit the northern outskirts of Zaytsevo. One of the shells fired from positions of the 35th brigade’s 137th battalion hit the yard of a dwelling house, a civilian born 1940 was there at the moment. The woman died from the injuries.
In an attempt to shift the responsibility for the criminal actions of their own out-of-control armed groups, the command of the occupying forces accused DPR People’s Militia units of killing the civilian, while this morning’s statement from the headquarters of the joint forces operation says that our units have not opened fire in that direction, which once again indicates that the headquarters of the joint forces operation keeps spreading misinformation in order to find excuses to the public for the criminal actions of their units,” the statement reads.
