On July 18, spokesman for the DPR People’s Militia Colonel Eduard Basurin announced that the body of the third Ukrainian commando who died in the Zaytsevo area had been found.
“Yesterday [on July 17 – ed.] we handed over the body of the second commando to the Ukrainian side who was identified as an Estonian citizen. He died on July 13 near Zaytsevo in a mine explosion. The citizenship of the victim was also confirmed by a representative of the Estonian Foreign Ministry.
At the request of the Ukrainian party to the JCCC, we revisited the scene where the sabotage-reconnaissance group was blown up and found the body of another commando.
Currently, our experts are ascertaining his identity and are negotiating with the Ukrainian side the hand-over of the body
Kiev officials claim that it allegedly was medical officers who were blown up, which for the third time has demonstrated that they made-up this story intentionally, and directly indicates their desire to disclaim the responsibility to the Western handlers for the deaths of the foreign mercenaries.
All of the commandos’ equipment and weapons we have found are high quality, expensive NATO-made items used by special operations forces both in daylight hours and at night.
Next to the body of the third commando we found an AKM-TK7 assault rifle with the number ЛЯ3098, with a non-standard forearm, pistol grip, buttstock, a pod for the shifting of fire and a sight bracket. The belt on the rifle is also non-standard, with quick-release option. The soldier had a reduced-weight vest Plate Carrier with three pouches for AKM magazines and a helmet TEMP 3000 in a standard case.
A Motorola radio station was also found with him, and there were bloodstains within a 20-metre radius in the area where the body was found, which indicates that the soldier did not die immediately but was injured and was trying to radio the command, calling for help. At the time, however, commander of the 35th marine brigade Palas was busy making up a legend to justify his actions and shift the responsibility for the deaths of the foreign nationals. Instead of providing urgent help to the injured soldier, he tried to draw public attention to non-existent details, vest and a medical helmet, while his subordinate was slowly dying,” Eduard Basurin said.
