The DPR Ministry of Information hosted a press conference with spokesman for the DPR Ministry of State Security Mikhail Popov, who gave a number of details about the sabotage and terrorist attacks that the Main Military Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine organized in the territory of the Republic of Crimea and in the DPR, a correspondent of the Official Website of the Donetsk People’s Republic reported on July 17.
“On July 9, 2020, the Ukrainian mass media made public audio recordings of the telephone conversations between ex-President of Ukraine Poroshenko and former US Vice-President Biden. The American side was actually thumbs down on Kiev’s attempts to unleash a sabotage war in the Russian Crimea in August 2016.
On July 16, 2020, a number of web-resources posted ultra-confidential documents of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which reveal all the circumstances of the failed sabotage-terrorist act in the Crimea on August 6-8, 2016.
In this regard, the DPR MGB considers it important to make an official statement.
The materials of the Main Intelligence Directorate published on the Internet are absolutely authentic. The DPR MGB has copies of all these documents, whose authenticity is beyond any doubt.
These documents clearly show that in early 2016 Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kondratyuk ordered to carry out an actual terrorist attack in the territory of the Russian Federation. This act of terrorism was thwarted by the special services at the expense of an FSB officer’s life.
It is documented that it was a Ukrainian intelligence unit — the Special Reserve of the Main Intelligence Directorate, whose base is located in the town of Lyutezh, the Kiev region — that prepared and attempted to carry out the terrorist attack.
In addition, the names of all officials of the military intelligence of Ukraine involved in this crime have been proved by documentary evidence. Moreover, the DPR MGB knows those officers of the Special Reserve well for the crimes they committed in Donbass,” Mikhail Popov said.
Then, the MGB’s press officer gave a detailed account of the tasks that Ukrainian intelligence officers had in the DPR territory in the period from 2016 to 2019, as well as of how this sabotage and intelligence activity was negated thanks to the professional work done by the DPR MGB and the Internal Affairs Ministry.
“We believe that the published documents exposing the criminality of the special services of Ukraine will serve as additional evidence for criminal proceedings conducted in Russia,” Mikhail Popov concluded.
