Временно исполняющий обязанности Главы Донецкой Народной Республики Денис Пушилин 12 октября принял участие в торжественном мероприятии, посвященном четвертой годовщине со дня создания отдельного штурмового батальона «Сомали» имени Героя ДНР Михаила Толстых («Гиви»). Как сообщает корреспондент официального сайта ДНР, сегодня в этом прославленном боевом подразделении прошел День открытых дверей.
«От всего сердца поздравляю вас с очередной годовщиной создания части. История вашего подразделения — это летопись героизма, мужества, стойкости. Ни для кого не секрет, что вы и ваши командиры никогда не отсиживались в теплых местах, а действительно сражались на самых сложных участках фронта. То, что вы делали и продолжаете делать — это достойно памяти наших героических предков, поколения победителей фашизма», — заявил врио Главы ДНР Денис Пушилин.
В ходе торжественного мероприятия он вручил отличившимся бойцам государственные награды. Также ряду военнослужащих были присвоены досрочно очередные воинские звания.
«Считаю необходимым поощрять военнослужащих за совершенные подвиги. Безусловно, эти награды — только малая часть того, что должна сделать для вас Республика. Но работа в этом направлении ведется. Уже принят Закон, освобождающий от уплаты услуг ЖКХ семьи погибших военнослужащих. Это подтверждение того, что мы движемся в нужном направлении. Уверяю вас, что в нашей молодой Республике военнослужащие будут защищены», — подчеркнул врио Главы ДНР Денис Пушилин.
Как отметил генерал-майор Денис Синенков, слава к этому подразделению пришла с первых дней его создания в апреле-июне 2014 года в боях в Славянске. «Вы являетесь примером для всех», — сказал он.
Мама Героя Донецкой Народной Республики, легендарного комбата «Гиви» Михаила Толстых Нина Михайловна, пожелала однополчанам здоровья и Победы и, чтобы все они вернулись домой к своим семьям живыми. «А мы — ваши матеря, ваши сестры, — верим в вас!», — сказала она.
Герой ДНР, командир еще одного прославленного подразделения — интернациональной бригады «Пятнашка» — Ахра Авидзба напомнил, что боевая дружба двух подразделений началась в 2014 году. «Наши подразделения побратались. Так случилось, что без друг друга они не могли быть, дополняли и поддерживали. Вы вписали славную историю и ваш комбат по сей день живой для нас всех!», — сказал он.
Затем почетные гости посетили музей боевой славы отдельного штурмового батальона «Сомали».

During the solemn event, he awarded distinguished soldierswithstate decorations. In addition, upon a number of servicemen, furthermilitary ranks were conferred.
“I consider it necessary to encourage servicemen for their feats. Of course, these awards are only a small part of what the Republic should do for you. But work in this area is underway. We have already approved the Law exemptingfamilies of servicemen killed in battle from paying for housing and public utility services. This is a confirmation that we are takinga right course. I assure you that in our young Republic the military will be protected,” interim Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin stressed.
According to General Major Denis Sinenkov, this unit has become famous since the first days of its creation in April and June 2014 during the battles in Slavyansk. “You are an example to everyone,” he said.
Nina Mikhailovna, the mother of the Hero of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the legendary battalion commander Mikhail “Givi”Tolstykh, , wished the soldiers health and victory, and hoped that they all returned home alive to their families. “And we — your mothers, your sisters — believe in you!” she said.
Hero of the DPR Akhra Avidzba, the commander of another famous unit —Pyatnashka International Brigade —recalled that themilitary friendship of the two units began in 2014. “Our units got fraternized. It so happened that without each other they could not be,wereinforced and supported each other. You have written a glorious history and your battalion commander is still alive for all of us!” he said.
Then the guests of honor visited the museum of military glory of Separate Assault Battalion Somalia.
