Главе администрации Донецка Алексею Кулемзину поручено в порядке, установленном статьей 4 Закона Донецкой Народной Республики от 7 августа 2015 года N73-IHC «Об увековечении памяти выдающихся деятелей, заслуженных лиц, исторических событий и памятных дат», обеспечить присвоение наименования площади перед административным зданием, расположенным по адресу: Донецк, бульвар Пушкина, 34, в площадь имени Александра Владимировича Захарченко. Об этом сообщает пресс-служба администрации Главы ДНР.
«Эта площадь для всех жителей Донбасса символизирует начало борьбы за Русский мир, начало жизни Донецкой Народной Республики. А Александр Захарченко стал олицетворением борьбы за свободу и независимость наших граждан, духа единства и народного порыва, в котором сплотился весь Донбасс ради спасения своей земли.
Все мы помним многотысячные митинги, которые собирались в начале 2014 года на площади перед зданием бывшей ОГА. Помним, как еще долгое время возле здания администрации высились баррикады, напоминавшие о начале самого процесса становления Республики. Человек несгибаемой воли, Александр Владимирович искренне радел за мир в нашем крае, за воссоединение с Россией и благополучие каждого гражданина Республики.
Считаю, что присвоение имени Александра Захарченко площади перед зданием Дома Правительства – наш долг перед ним. Наши потомки должны знать и помнить имя первого Главы Республики», – прокомментировал решение Денис Пушилин.

Mayor of Donetsk Aleksey Kulemzin has been instructed that in accordance with Article 4 of Law N73-IHC of the Donetsk People’s Republic as of August 7th, 2015 On Perpetuating the Memory of Prominent Figures, Distinguished Persons, Historical Events, and Memorable Dates, the square in front of the administrative building located at 34 Pushkina Boulevard, Donetsk be named after Aleksandr V. Zakharchenko. This is reported by the press service of the DPR Head’s administration.
“This square for all residents of Donbass symbolizes the beginning of the struggle for the Russian world, the beginning of life of the Donetsk People’s Republic. And Aleksandr Zakharchenko became the personification of the struggle for freedom and independence of our citizens, the spirit of unity and the people’s impulse, with which whole Donbass rallied for the salvation of our land.
We all remember thousands-strong rallies that were held in early 2014 in the square in front of the former building of the regional state administration. We remember that near the administration building, for a long time, barricades were towering up, reminiscent of the beginning of the process of the formation of the Republic. A man of unbending will, Aleksandr V. Zakharchenko, sincerely pushed for peace in our region, for the reunification with Russia and the well-being of every citizen of the Republic.
I believe that naming the square in front of the Government House after Aleksandr Zakharchenko is our duty to him. Our descendants should know and remember the name of the first-ever Head of the Republic,” Denis Pushilin commented on the decision.
