Сегодня, 28 августа, в центре Донецка прошел торжественный митинг, посвященный присвоению площади у Дома Правительства ДНР имени первого Главы Республики Александра Захарченко (1976–2018). Как сообщает корреспондент официального сайта Донецкой Народной Республики, тысячи дончан собрались здесь, чтобы отдать дань памяти и уважения безвременно ушедшему лидеру нашего государства. В их числе действующий Глава ДНР Денис Пушилин, Председатель Народного Совета ДНР Владимир Бидёвка, глава администрации столицы Алексей Кулемзин, члены Правительства, депутаты Народного Совета ДНР, ветераны-афганцы, жители города. На митинге присутствовали родители Александра Захарченко – Тамара Федоровна и Владимир Николаевич.

«Уважаемые друзья!

Мы стоим на площади имени Героя Донецкой Народной Республики Александра Владимировича Захарченко. Это место смело можно назвать легендарным. Это место, где народ Донбасса проявил свою волю, показал жестко и непримиримо — он не согласен с тем, что происходило тогда в Киеве, не согласен с государственным переворотом, не согласен с угнетением нашего языка, нашей родной культуры, не согласен с навязыванием чужих ценностей, идеологии, политики.

Александр Владимирович стал защитником народной воли. Он стал командиром первых отрядов ополчения, тех ребят, которые поверили в нашу правду – правду Донбасса — готовы были защищать и защитили Донбасс. Многие из них – ценой своей жизни.

Александр Владимирович всегда был там, где тяжелее всего. И что касалось фронта, и что касалось государственного строительства. Так, именно в августе 2014 года, когда нужно было возглавить наше молодое государство, он взвалил на себя эту ношу и справился с ней.

Увы, наша свобода стоит очень и очень дорого. Война унесла тысячи и тысячи жизней наших с вами земляков. С нами нет многих героев. Погиб и первый Глава, Александр Владимирович Захарченко. Мы помним и всегда будем его помнить. И сегодня мы называем эту площадь его именем, отдавая дань памяти, уважения и благодарности», — подчеркнул действующий Глава ДНР Денис Пушилин.

«Имя первого Главы ДНР Александра Захарченко навсегда вошло в историю борьбы Донбасса за справедливость, независимость и свободу. Именно ему народ Донбасса вручил свою судьбу и избрал своим Главой. Именно с ним происходило становление молодого государства в самые сложные времена. Мы должны помнить о целях его жизни, о том,что он делал», — отметил Председатель Народного Совета Владимир Бидевка.

«Александр Захарченко был государственным деятелем, мудрым и справедливым. Он был отважным и бесстрашным воином, которого наши враги не смогли победить в честном бою. Вечная память и вечная слава Герою Донецкой Народной Республики Александру Владимировичу Захарченко!» — сказал глава Донецкой городской администрации Алексей Кулемзин.

Первый Глава ДНР Александр Захарченко погиб 31 августа 2018 года в результате террористического акта, совершенного украинскими спецслужбами. По инициативе действующего Главы ДНР Дениса Пушилина 23 августа 2019 года его имя было присвоено площади у Дома Правительства ДНР, которая весной 2014 года стала отправной точкой деятельности Александра Захарченко на благо Донецкой Народной Республики и ее граждан.

Today, on August 28th, a solemn meeting dedicated to naming the square near the House of Government of the DPR after first Head of the Republic of Aleksandr Zakharchenko (1976–2018) was held in the center of Donetsk. According to a correspondent of the official website of the Donetsk People’s Republic, thousands of Donetsk residents gathered here to pay tribute to the memory and pay homage to the dearly departed leader of our state. Among them, there were current Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, head of the capital’s administration Aleksey Kulemzin, members of the Government, deputies of the DPR People’s Council, Afghan veterans, and residents of the city. The rally was attended by Aleksandr Zakharchenko’s parents – Tamara Fyodorovna and Vladimir Nikolayevich.

“Dear friends!

We are standing on the square named after Hero of the Donetsk People’s Republic Aleksandr Vladimirovich Zakharchenko. This place can be stout-heartedly called legendary. This is a place where the people of Donbass showed their will, showed harshly and irreconcilably — it does not agree with what was happening in Kiev, does not agree with the coup d’état, does not agree with the oppression of our language, our native culture, does not agree with the imposition of foreign values , ideology, politics.

Aleksandr Vladimirovich became a defender of the people’s will. He became the commander of the first units of the militia, those men who believed in our truth – the truth of Donbass – were ready to defend and have defended Donbass. Many of them – at the cost of their lives.

Aleksandr Vladimirovich always was where it’s the most difficult. And with regard to the front, and with regard to state building. So, it was in August 2014, when it was necessary to head our young state, that he took over this burden and handled it.

Alas, our freedom is very, very expensive. The war claimed thousands and thousands of lives of our fellow countrymen. Many heroes left us. And the first Head died, Aleksandr Vladimirovich Zakharchenko. We remember and will always remember him. And today we are naming this square after him, paying tribute to the memory, doing homage and expressing gratitude,” current Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin emphasized.

“The name of first Head of the DPR Aleksandr Zakharchenko forever entered the history of the struggle of Donbass for justice, independence and freedom. It was to him that the people of Donbass entrusted their fate and chose as their Head. It was with him that the formation of the young state was happening in the hardest times. We must remember the goals of his life, what he did,” Chairman of the People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka noted.

“Aleksandr Zakharchenko was a statesman, wise and fair. He was a brave and fearless warrior whom our enemies could not defeat in a fair battle. Eternal memory and eternal glory to the Hero of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Aleksandr Vladimirovich Zakharchenko!” head of the Donetsk city administration Aleksey Kulemzin said.

First Head of the DPR Aleksandr Zakharchenko died on August 31st, 2018 as a result of a terrorist act committed by Ukrainian special services. On the initiative of current Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, on August 23rd, 2019, the square near the Government House of the DPR was named after him, the square that in spring 2014 became the starting point of Aleksandr Zakharchenko’s activities for the benefit of the Donetsk People’s Republic and its citizens.
