On November 19, the Commissioner for Human Rights with the direct participation of the DPR Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of the DPR and the Department for Labour and Social Protection of the population under Council of the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, assisted in accommodating a 70-year-old resident in a specialized social institution, the press secretary of the Ombudsperson reports.
The house of the injured woman was destroyed in hostilities, at present she has no close relatives who would take care of her. Due to the advanced age, a citizen of the DPR needs specialized care. Previously, she had already undergone treatment in one of the medical institutions of the Republic. Now, thanks to the joint efforts of the Commissioner and the relevant authorities, citizen K. will be fully provided by the State in the Donetsk residential care facility for the elderly and disabled, where proper medical care will be ensured for her.
The Commissioner expresses her appreciation to those who care about the fate of the elderly. The Ombudsperson calls particular attention to the necessity to protect the rights and freedoms of the persons who are in need of proper care from the state and society.
