Yesterday, during the speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, president Zelensky claimed that the war in the territory of Donbass could be ended even tomorrow if all the parties wanted to do so, chief of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement’s Central Executive Committee Alexey Muratov commented on his statement.
“A familiar pattern is repeating itself when the president of Ukraine plays the hypocrite in front of representatives of the international community, trying to pass himself off as a peacemaker, while on his return to Kiev he does directly opposite actions. Thus, following the results of the summit of the Normandy Four, which, by the way, Zelensky labeled as an achievement of his team, the leaders of the participating countries formed and signed quite concrete priority steps for the implementation of the Minsk Agreements. He began to swear off the need to implement them once he returned to Ukraine.
In fact, we once again see the unwillingness to carry out the withdrawal of forces and equipment along the entire line of contact, because of which people die. We also see the attempts to alter or evade the political section of the Minsk Agreements, which is fundamental for ending the confrontation. The top officials of the security agencies make odious statements, according to whom the ceasefire and the withdrawal of forces along the entire line of delimitation is not in the interests of Ukraine, but on the contrary, they ought to prepare for the implementation of a Croatian Scenario in the territory of Donbass, apparently when the defenders of the Republics “disarm” themselves. We all remember very well both the plans to deport the local population that the Security and Defense Council of Ukraine is scheming and the provocative videos by the “reintegrators” from among the Ukrainian militants,” Muratov stated.
He also noted that Ukraine is the party that impedes the peaceful settlement of the conflict by all means, ignoring the commitments it made.
“As you know, “tomorrow” never comes, every day is “today”, so Mr. Zelensky should have been less sly, but put his mind to the matter now to fulfill everything that has long been set out in the Minsk Agreements,” Muratov stressed.
