The state-owned enterprise Ukrzaliznytsia is being placed under the full control of the German company Deutsche Bahn. Secretary of the primary public organization Donetsk Railway SE of the Donetsk Republic PM’s local branch Valery Aksyonov commented on this message.
“The situation is funny, recently, prime minister of Ukraine Aleksey Goncharuk claimed that the Ukrainian railway had been destroyed by 90%, but a memorandum of cooperation with the German party was signed in Davos on January 22.
Moreover, as it turns out, the company does not plan to pay Ukraine for managing the largest railway network in Europe. That is, Zelensky’s government gives the Germans Ukrzaliznytsia for nothing.
It would seem what difference does it make who owns the railway? The main thing is that the trains go on time. But the fact is that the transfer of control to the Germans will, first of all, affect the passengers’ wallet. Ticket prices will soon increase by 22%. And such a decision was not made by the Ukrainian government, but by the American Chamber of Commerce. After all, Zelensky’s government are not the masters of either their own word or their own country.
All the more cynical are the words of prime minister Goncharuk that investors need to know only three words, “Glory to Ukraine”, in order to do business successfully in the “independent” country,” Aksyonov stated.
