A scheduled “Dialogue On Par” between Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin and activists of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement took place in Donetsk today, on January 30. According to the correspondent of the Official Website of the Donetsk People’s Republic, in the course of the meeting there were discussed citizens’ most pressing and thorny issues, such as crossing border and customs control points, licensing school and pre-school institutions, obtaining a DPR passport, changing the approach to the officials’ work, and many others.
“Good afternoon, dear friends!
We plan to hold our conversation in a “question-answer” mode so that there are absolutely correct questions and absolutely honest answers. It feels right to me to have a relationship of trust with activists of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement. It is necessary so that no one tries to manipulate by means of various myths, gossip and other things. And on the other hand, so that you are the first to receive the information that is needed in terms of developing the policy that we are shaping within the formation and development of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” Denis Pushilin said at the opening of the meeting.
The first question addressed to the Head of the Republic concerned numerous complaints of citizens about the lack of comfort at the border and customs control points on the contact line with Ukraine.
“This question is really important and urgent. And it, alas, has been on our agenda for many months, even more than a year. Indeed, we are experiencing certain difficulties with citizens’ passage through checkpoints with Ukraine. In this regard, there is a need to change the approach as a whole. And now we are working with security officials on conceptual changes in passing through checkpoints. Nothing can be achieved without a comprehensive solution. We have improved the infrastructure, but the queues do not decrease. We are fighting corruption. Has the situation improved in the long term? No, it hasn’t. Accordingly, it is necessary to change the situation radically, and such a mechanism is being elaborated now,” Denis Pushilin said.
In turn, activists of the Donetsk Republic PM, deputies of the People’s Council and people’s controllers proposed their own project to normalize the situation at the border and customs control points.
Among other issues brought up for discussion there were the difficulties in the work of the Unified Registration Center in the Kirovsky district of Donetsk, the licensing process for school and preschool institutions, and others. The meeting with the Head of the Republic was constructive, many issues were taken under control.
