DPR Information Minister Igor Antipov, during a conversation with Yuri Kotenok, Editor-in-Chief of the Donbass Analytics Agency, spoke about the measures the ministry he heads carries out to protect the population of the Republic from fake information coming from Ukraine.
“First of all, this is about boosting media literacy of the population, because the scope of Internet resources is huge. The self-awareness of people who use information is of great importance.
As for everything that concerns the information war itself, we monitor social networks very seriously. If we are talking about war, then we must perfect our tactics, strategy, must fully realize what is happening. We understand how the opponent’s information aspect works. We try to carry out counteraction in advance. According to the statistics of 2019, they launched over a thousand information attacks against us, we managed to repel the major ones.
Our another main task is to arrange for a dynamic provision of information on all our media outlets. And those changes that took place in our media sphere yield very serious results.
There is much talk now about the channel that Ukraine is going to broadcast in the republics. The Ukrainian side has high hopes for it. I do not believe it is going to work out. That is yet another PR stunt.
We fight that channel only with good, quality content, professionalism and by working proactively,” Igor Antipov said specifically.
