On Friday, October 18, the VIII Slavic International Economic Forum started in Bryansk. Vice-Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Donetsk People’s Republic Yekaterina Martyanova and member of the Public Chamber Alexander Skablyuk attended its opening, the press service of the organization reported.
More than 1,8 thousand people are participating part in the Forum. These are delegations and representatives of industrial and agricultural enterprises, professional associations, public organizations, IT companies, academic community and youth of the Bryansk region, the Republic of Belarus, the Republika Srpska, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, as well as Angola, Poland, Spain, Korea, and Taiwan. The Forum focuses on “Saving and enhancing human capacities.”
On the first day, the Public Chamber members visited two platforms – “Economics in the Digital Ecosystem” and “Modern Eco-Surroundings for Living.”
“Today, the issues of improving the quality of life of people and creating a comfortable living environment, in particular with the involvement of digital technologies, are of priority in Russia. As was shown by the project session of the VIII Slavic International Economic Forum, dedicated to the environment, new ideas are being developed and a lot of interesting projects are being implemented in this field. I believe that we need to learn from experience and put it into practice in the Donetsk People’s Republic as part of our integration processes,” Ekaterina Martyanova said.
She also stressed that the Donetsk International Investment Forum, supported by the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, will be held from October 29 to 30. Within the Forum there will be launched 6 thematic platforms dedicated to the economic potential of Donbass, the formation of a favourable investment climate, cooperation in the field of agriculture, scientific and educational capacity, cooperation of Donbass with the regions of Russia, as well as environmental development.
A Plenary and 11 thematic meetings were held within the Forum, and there was also a Contact Exchange platform, at which participants could hold business meetings, discuss prospects for cooperation, find new business partners, and expand into new markets.
