A new economic model is needed for the DPR to be able to include robust exports under the conditions of the western sanctions, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin said during a welcoming address at the Plenary of the Donetsk International Investment Forum.

“We need a new model of the functioning of the republican economy, taking into account the inclusion of a powerful export component. For this, we must use special infrastructure mechanisms, including international settlements, which would circumvent the sanctions policy of the West,” Pushilin said.

The Head of the DPR expressed hope that the Donetsk International Investment Forum would bring a substantial contribution to the creation of conditions for further development of the agreements reached and would become a foundation which would allow to make the Republic even more attractive for potential investors.

“I have a firm belief that the representatives of the business associations, businessmen and officials from CIS and Western countries who have joined us today will see the Donetsk People’s Republic as their responsible and reliable partner,” Pushilin said.

According to the Head of the Republic, the DPR will concentrate on further increasing its competitiveness and creating even better conditions for further cooperation with international partners.

It is worth noting that representatives of 17 countries, a total of about 250 foreign delegates, are taking part in the Forum as honoured guests and participants.
