Donbass has retained its economic and industrial potential, despite the protracted armed conflict in the region. Participant of the Donetsk International Investment Forum, member of the Moscow Region Public Chamber Dmitry Shalygin expressed such an opinion today.

“Donetsk, despite the five-year war, possesses a huge industrial potential, and despite economic difficulties, it hasn’t been wasted. This is an excellent basis for future development,” Shalygin said.

According to him, nearly any part of the world can be attractive for investment, for this to be achieved it is just necessary to enhance the strong points of a particular region. Along with industry, the Russian social activist mentioned education among the strengths of Donbass.

“You have a strong point which is education: you can attract solvent foreign students here,” he suggested.
