Due to Ukraine’s failure to renew the fulfilment of its commitments in the disengagement area near Petrovskoye on the date agreed upon by all members of the Trilateral Contact Group, the representatives of the Republic have initiated an extraordinary and immediate meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in videoconference mode, proceeding from paragraph 5 of the Framework Decision, the DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
“As provided for by the Framework Decision, the time schedule and peculiarities of the disengagement process are discussed and approved on a consensus basis only within the Contact Group.
In this connection, at the extraordinary meeting, all Contact Group members will have to decide on a new date to begin the measures corresponding to the previously approved implementation roadmap to eliminate violations in the area No. 3, which was disengaged earlier.
We look forward to a proactive stance from OSCE representatives on arranging for an immediate meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in videoconference mode. We also look forward to a sensible approach from our opponents to approve a new date,” Natalya Nikonorova stated.
