After long negotiations and consultations with OSCE SMM coordinator for the Contact Group Mr. Sajdik, and thanks to his personal proactive stance, it has been possible to make representatives of Kiev work constructively, and collegially agree on a new date, the 9th of November, to begin practical measures for the elimination of violations at the previously disengaged area near Petrovskoye, DPR Plenipotentiary to the Contact Group talks in Minsk, Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalya Nikonorova stated today, on November 8.

“We fully reaffirm our readiness for a synchronous and simultaneous disengagement on the agreed date and we thank Mr. Sajdik for the efforts he made to reach agreement with the Ukrainian side.

We hope that the Ukrainian side will also back up its consent with concrete actions, and tomorrow at 12:00 Eastern European time (13:00 Moscow time) we synchronously and simultaneously begin to carry out the agreed activities in the disengagement area in accordance with the implementation roadmap.

If this really happens, it will become a serious and constructive step, and will bring significant progress to the fulfilment of the Normandy Four’s instructions, it will also become kind of a signal that the Ukrainian leadership tries to proceed with the peaceful resolution of the conflict,” Nikonorova emphasized.
