Seventy-five percent of the Ukrainians voted for Zelensky because he promised to end the war in Donbass. DPR People’s Council Deputy Vladislav Berdichevsky commented on the changes in the country and the outcome of the almost six-month rule of the new Ukrainian president.

“Zelensky was elected to the office of president of Ukraine with the record majority vote. But after almost half a year of his rule, he has absolutely no support left. That is, the people of Ukraine simply voted against Poroshenko and his policy.

I believe Zelensky was deceived. First of all, he was deceived by the West, which promised support that is absent right now. Every third hryvnia from the country’s budget goes to pay off the external indebtedness, there are no investments. As for the politics, Zelensky continues following the line of his predecessor,” Vladislav Berdichevsky stated.

The deputy also stressed that Ukraine is completely dependent on Western lending, so Zelensky cannot manifest his political will or change anything in the current situation.

“Do not forget that the country is full of weapons. Every day we see news about grenade explosions and shooting at neighbors. Ukraine has sunk to the point of another Maidan, which, in my opinion, may happen in the near future,” Vladislav Berdichevsky commented.
