The key issue of today’s meeting of the political subgroup was the extension of the law on the special status of Donbass and further development of possible amendments to it based on the Package of Measures due to the need to implement the Steinmeier formula, reported the press office of the DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“At the same time, the negotiators from Ukraine refuse to consider the main focus of the political subgroup, namely, the reinforcement of the special status of Donbass in the Constitution, although this issue is not an explicit requirement of the Package of Measures only, but also an objectively necessary step to give the special status a permanent nature,” DPR Plenipotentiary Natalya Nikonorova said.
