For the war years, the people of Donbass have become accustomed to the fact that the Ukrainian party deliberately sabotages any peaceful settlement attempts, avoids fulfilling the duties assigned to it by the Package of Measures to implement the Minsk Agreements, DPR People’s Council deputy Oleg Onopko said.
“But it is only under President V. Zelensky that representatives of the state authorities of Ukraine dare to publicly declare that they are hatching plans for the deportation of the Donbass people and other operations aimed at ending the conflict “but in their country’s favour.” And these are not some slogans and ideas taken out of context, but consistent and carefully thought out acts of state policy.
Judging by the latest statements by NSDC Secretary A. Danilov and other Ukrainian politicians, it is about a system of political repressions: both targeted (through so-called “lustrations,” “transitional justice” and a network of private prisons), and massive ones (by deporting the residents of Donetsk and Lugansk, who disagree with Kiev’s policy). This is another confirmation to Ukraine’s invariably aggressive intentions towards the Russian people of Donbass, along with the fact that the Ukrainian regime lives to the logic of Rwanda of 1994 and not of Europe of 2019,” Oleg Onopko stressed.
