Having chosen negotiations as the way to resolve the conflict, the Republics demonstrated the importance of every human life as the highest value under the rule of law, DPR Youth Parliament’s deputy Natalia Podlesnaya said at a meeting with students of the Donbass Agrarian Academy.

“Despite all the difficulties on the way to implement the Package of Measures, we are still holding the view that the only peaceful way to resolve the conflict is to implement the Minsk Agreements. As the eminent Soviet diplomat, Foreign Minister Andrei A. Gromyko said: “10 years of negotiations serve better than one day of war.”

Since the outbreak of the armed conflict in the Donetsk People’s Republic, 4,889 people have perished, including 81 children, and the first paragraphs of the Minsk Agreements deal with the cessation of hostilities and the withdrawal of heavy weapons. Thus, having chosen negotiations as the way to resolve the conflict, the Republics demonstrated the importance of every human life as the highest value under the rule of law.

While our representatives are conducting diplomatic work at the Minsk platform, integration processes with the Russian Federation are being stepped up in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. The Minsk Agreements serve as an tool to remain independent from the influence that the Kiev leadership may exert on the destiny of our Homeland,” Natalia Podlesnaya commented.
