Wages of public sector workers, as well as retirement payments and social benefits will be increased by more than a quarter in the DPR from January 1, 2020. Head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement Alexei Muratov commented on this.
“Today, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin announced another increase in wages to state employees, as well as retirement payments and social benefits. I recall that the Head of the DPR announced this immediately after the previous increase, which took place six months ago. And now, beginning from the next month, from January 1, 2020, the wages of teachers, medical and social workers, as well as other representatives of the public sector will be increased by more than a quarter.
It is very important that the wishes of the elderly people, stated after the previous increase in July this year, have been taken into account. This time, an increase in pensions by 20% from January 1, 2020 will affect each recipient of payments. This will be of significant assistance to this category of citizens.
This step demonstrates that despite all the hardships of the ongoing military and political confrontation and the social and economic blockade, the Republic is developing and steadily moving forward. At the same time, all those who are most dependent on the state support are not ignored. The work to strengthen the economy of the DPR continues, which means that the level and quality of our citizens’ life will keep improving,” Alexei Muratov said.
