On December 19, Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin held a working meeting with the mayors of cities, towns and districts to sum up the results for 2019. According to a correspondent of the Official Website of the Donetsk People’s Republic, during the meeting the mayors reported on the work carried out to restore the infrastructure damaged by hostilities, repair water and sewer networks, the condition of public transport, elevator facilities, and others.
“Dear colleagues, today we are summing up the work of the administrations of cities and districts of the Donetsk People’s Republic for 2019. The outgoing year was a labor-intensive year for us. We faced a number of both occasional and recurrent problems in various spheres of life. We must analyze the issues that arose before us and find ways to solve them,” Denis Pushilin said.
According to mayor of Donetsk Aleksey Kulemzin, in accordance with the instructions of the DPR Head, the repair of Kindergarten 17 in Kuibyshevsky District of the city has been completed.
“The heating system has been installed and completely restored, 149 windows replaced, more than a thousand additional heating sections installed. The temperature requirements are normal and meet all standards of a child care institution,” he reported.
In addition, according to Kulemzin, the renovation of the interior of the memorial complex To Your Liberators, Donbass! and the Art-Donbass Museum is ongoing, the construction and installation of sewage systems in the village of Biryuzova have been completed, a new pedestrian bridge has been built in the village of Larino, the renovation of an apartment building on Samoilova Street and other works are underway.
The capital’s mayor focused on problematic issues requiring immediate solution. Among those are the pay increment to employees of public utilities, in particular drivers, technicians, and repairmen of Donelektroavtotrans Public Utilities Rnterprise, the overhaul of the railroad and contact tracks is needed.
In addition, mayor of Gorlovka Ivan Prikhodko, mayor of Novoazovsky District Oleg Morgun and mayor of Khartsyzsk Viktoria Zhukova reported on the situation in these localities.
At the end of the event, Denis Pushilin encouraged the mayors of the cities, towns and districts to be more active in solving issues and problems.
“Dear colleagues, I am sure that you have the necessary experience in governing cities and districts of the Republic. This is more than enough. But I wish you were more active. People expect that you will not only listen to and hear their problems, but also seek their solution,” the Head of the DPR concluded.
