The outgoing year was still marked by the AFU’s resorting to the tactics of using sabotage groups, DPR PMD official representative Rinat Aygistov reported at the briefing on December 27.

“Not a single sortie brought the Ukrainian occupiers results, except for their own losses. Of the 20 attempts to dispatch sabotage groups, 9 brought grief to the families of Ukrainian militants — a total of 19 Ukrainian saboteurs came home in coffins, 24 were left permanently disabled.

The most high-profile was the last sortie of the Ukrainian Alpha special forces, during which there were killed two officers, the body of one of them, abandoned on the battlefield and evacuated by the People’s Militia military, was not recognized by the Ukrainian authorities for more than a week. This fact is indicative of the Ukrainian authorities’ demonstrating the attitude towards their dead military, and will help make the militants who have not yet suffered in the trenches open their eyes and realize who they are fighting for,” Rinat Aigistov said.
