Today, on December 27, as part of the Package for a Soldier campaign of the Heroes project of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement, New Year presents, which had been collected by children from Donetsk and Makeyevka, were handed over to the People’s Militia servicemen. According to the correspondent of the DPR official website, the event was attended by the Vice-Commander of the DPR People’s Militia Directorate, Colonel Eduard Basurin and the Head of the Structural Development Department of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement, Andrei Bedilo.
According to Andrei Bedilo, the Package for a Soldier campaign is held for the fourth time, and more and more children join it every year.
“It has already become a good tradition when children congratulate defenders of our Republic on the New Year holidays. This year, more than one and a half tons of presents collected by children from Makeyevka and Donetsk will be transferred to our defenders,” he said.
Gift sets include food, homemade preserves, pastries, and more. The packages’ delivery will take place throughout the New Year holidays.
“These gifts will be transferred to units located near Donetsk, but the campaign is held throughout the Republic, so all military personnel will receive their presents. Receiving Christmas gifts from children, our defenders feel warmth and support. They know what they fight in trenches for and whom they must protect,” Eduard Basurin emphasized.
In addition, to the military there will be handed over holiday cards, in which the children wrote their wishes to the defenders of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
