The first question in the live call-in show with Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin related to the problem regarding the operation of checkpoints between the DPR and Ukraine. In his request, a resident from the Donbass territory temporarily controlled by Ukraine thanked Denis Pushilin for the Law On the DPR State Border and also asked to put things in order at the checkpoints, in particular, to solve the problem regarding illegal carriers.
“We have never forgotten and once again confirmed that we consider the entire Donetsk region to be the territory of the Republic. The very territory where the referendum was held in 2014. This is absolutely logical, and it is important that citizens living in the territory temporarily controlled by Ukraine understand this.
As for the checkpoints, this is a problem that we are currently facing. It is comprehensive. This year we have had the opportunity to improve the situation of the infrastructure, but this does not solve the problem in general. There is still a series of issues, both the availability of personnel and corruption. Unfortunately, they exist. I am extremely dissatisfied with this situation. This is what bothers people.
This situation must be dealt with once and for all. Here I consider non-standard approaches. The process of implementing this mechanism is in progress, and I hope this will fundamentally change the situation,” Denis Pushilin said.
