Today, on January 11, the Donetsk Center for Youth Initiatives Development hosted an entertainment named “Winter’s Fairy Tale” for children from low-income families as part of the Youth to the Children! campaign. It was arranged by the DPR Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism jointly with People’s Council deputy Maria Pirogova, a correspondent of the DPR Official Website reports.
According to Maria Pirogova children should have a happy childhood despite the war, and the task of the state is to make every effort to make them happy and show that miracles can happen not only on New Year’s.
“We continue the good tradition of arranging New Year matinees for children, despite the fact that the holidays have already passed. Children from Khartsyzsk, the Donetsk Social and Psychological Rehabilitation Center and children from large and low-income families of Kalininsky District of Donetsk have visited us, as well as orphans, about 65 people in total.
We do not stop at this and next time we will certainly arrange a holiday of even bigger scale for kids from other towns and districts of the Republic. They are trying to deprive our children of their childhood, and we, for our part, must do so that our children can be happy,” the deputy stressed.
In her turn, chief the DPR Youth and Sports Ministry’s Youth Department Yulia Safronova added that the Youth to the Children! campaign is held annually, and this time an entertainment featuring animators and interactive games was held for the children.
“The children will get not just an entertainment, but also gifts and, of course, a sweet buffet. In addition, there will be a master class, where they will be able to make mice, the symbol of 2020, with their own hands, which they will take as a memento of this day,” she noted.
We shall remind you that the Youth to the Children! campaign is an annual traditional event held by the DPR Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism on the eve of New Year and Christmas holidays in cities, towns and districts of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
