The training assembly of the Young Guard—Yunarmiya Patriotic Movement took place from January 9 to January 12 in the Military Secondary Boarding School named after G. T. Beregovoy providing enhanced physical training, the press service of the DPR Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism reports.

The event was prepared by the public organization of the Young Guard—Yunarmiya Patriotic Movement in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism of the Donetsk People’s Republic with the support of the Education Ministry, the Internal Affairs Ministry, the DPR People’s Militia Directorate and Donetsk Higher Combined Arms Command School.

The objective of the training assembly was to prepare a ceremonial brigade for participation in the parade dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

“This event is a beginning of the plans we have outlined for 2020. In the Year of the Great Victory, the best representatives of the DPR sports and patriotic clubs will get prepared and march in a column along the main street of the DPR capital,” Alexander Gromakov, the DPR Minister of Youth, Sports and Tourism, said.

The Yunarmeites have mastered the skills of ceremonial step, and also participated in a cultural and entertainment programme, which included competitions in darts, table tennis, football, basketball, disassembling and assembling a modified AK rifle, self-defense techniques, topography classes, as well as shooting at targets with air guns. At the end of each day, patriotic films were screened for the Yunarmeites.

As previously reported, more than 250 persons from cities and districts of the Donetsk People’s Republic took part in the training assembly.
