By his decree, Vladimir Zelensky introduced his own wife, Elena, to the Council for the Development of the Mystetskyi Arsenal [The Art Arsenal] National Cultural, Arts and Museum Complex. Director of the Novoazovsk Professional Lyceum Alexey Kuzubov commented on this decision by the incumbent president of Ukraine.
“Earlier Zelensky recognized the decree of the ex-president Pyotr Poroshenko on the composition of the council, co-chaired by the president’s wife Marina Poroshenko and his adviser, former head of the President’s Office Boris Lozhkin, as invalid.
Thus Zelensky approved the new composition of the council. Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Vladimir Borodyansky was appointed Chairman of the Council, and Director General of the Mystetsky Arsenal Olesya Ostrovskaya-Lyutyaya was appointed Secretary.
The question arises whether Elena Zelenskaya has anything to do with the development of Ukrainian national culture? She is an architect by education, although she never worked within her specialty. Perhaps Vladimir Zelensky believes it is enough that Elena wrote scripts and texts for the Kvartal 95? Though, in those texts there was observed nothing either national or cultural,” Alexei Kuzubov commented.
He also noted that Zelensky is no different from Poroshenko — it seems that the new president, just following the example of his predecessor, decided not to overthink and appointed his wife to a his plum assignment for her to be entertained in the absence of her spouse while he is engaged in public affairs.
