Today, on January 15, the capital’s Zvyozdochka Cinema hosted a screening of the film, Nom De Guerre “Donetsk”, by Russian war correspondent Semyon Pegov. It is about one of the main events of January 2015 — the regaining of control over the Donetsk airport. According to a correspondent of the Official Website of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin visited the premiere of the film.
“This is not the first and, I am sure, not the last film by famous war correspondent Semyon Pegov. It is clear that the film was made with heart, intelligently, because Semyon has been with us since 2014, he saw and felt everything like no one else.
This is our story. We need such films and, most importantly, we need this for future generations, so they can understand the responsibility for the Republic. We have started the process of perpetuating our heroes. And not only us, but also our friends: literally today I found out that the City Council of Simferopol decided to name after Alexander Zakharchenko one of the streets. It is really the unity, the understanding and the Russian world that are in our hearts,” Denis Pushilin shared his impressions of the film.
As part of the premiere, Russian singer Yulia Chicherina performed a new song in the auditorium. She especially wrote it for this film.
Recall that exactly five years ago, on January 15, 2015, units of the DPR Armed Forces regained full control over the Donetsk airport. After 8 months of fierce fighting, Ukrainian troops retreated with major losses. That was one of the most significant victories in the confrontation with Ukraine.
