According to the weekly epidemiological monitoring, 4,343 cases of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza have been registered this week, the incidence rate totaled 19 per 10 thousand people, which is 64% and 38.3% lower compared to the previous week and last year respectively, the DPR Health Ministry’s press service reports

No measles cases have been reported this week.

A total of 106 cases of acute intestinal infections have been registered, the incidence rate is 2.7% and 18.5% lower compared to the previous week and the same period last year respectively. 71.7 percent of the cases of acute intestinal infections has been registered among children aged up to 17

156 victims of animal bites contacted DPR health care institutions for anti-rabies aid. 2 cases of rabies of domestic animals have been reported. Three victims of sick animals’ bites, scratches and saliva contact are undergoing a series of anti-rabies treatment. Anti-epidemic and anti-epizootic activities are being conducted in the disease spots.

Healthcare facilities are provided with rabies immunoglobulin and rabies vaccine in sufficient quantity.

2 cases of Lyme borreliosis among the residents of Gorlovka and Khartsyzsk have been registered. The persons were infected within the DPR territory in the summer and autumn of 2019. Both are hospitalized and getting treatment.

During the period from January 9 to January 15, the DPR State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service took 58 samples of drinking water, including 57 samples from centralized water supply networks, and 1 sample from an epidemiological spot. 58 samples were checked for microbiological, sanitary and chemical parameters. No deviations from the microbiological, sanitary and chemical parameters found.
