Today, on January 24, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin met with the Presidium of the DPR Youth Parliament. According to the correspondent of the DPR Official Website, the Head of the Republic drew the attention of young parliamentarians to important aspects of their activities and recommended setting the top priorities in solving major problems in youth policy.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you. At a certain point in time, the youth remained on the sidelines of public life. In our Republic, an opportunity has opened up for you to implement your ideas. And in this regard I envy you, because we never had such opportunities before. You have such a chance, and it is important to use it properly, understanding the responsibility that lies with you. The life of our state depends on how you see the future now, and how appropriately you place the emphasis,” Denis Pushilin said.
The Head of the Republic drew the attention of the Youth Parliament members that these days it is necessary to change the worldview of many people, including government officials.
“We need to change the approach. It is necessary to start looking towards people! Unfortunately, this can be observed extremely rarely. Such a system has to be built in which the officials at their work should put service to people at the forefront. It is simple and clear! But not for personal enrichment and not as a tool to punish people. These options prevent the Republic from developing,” the Head of the DPR emphasized.
Denis Pushilin promised to assist the Youth Parliament in establishing contacts with their peers from Russia.
“We will continue to help you expand your social networks, gain experience, introduce into the Republic as many necessary and useful things from the experience of the regions of the Russian Federation possible,” he said.
The head of state said that the authorities of the Republic are counting on youth.
“The main thing is not to stop! We will work and interact. Just remember that you have the opportunity on the one hand and responsibility on the other. You are not just participating in a game, you are the leaders of public opinion — your friends and peers are watching you attentively. Therefore, remember this!” the Head of the DPR emphasized.
Chairman of the DPR Youth Parliament Vladislav Pogorely reported to the Head of the Republic on the Youth Parliament’s activities performed last year. In addition to that, during this meeting the Head of the DPR discussed with the Republic’s young parliamentarians a number of urgent problems of the young generation.
