Among the high command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there again have been voiced calls to end the conflict in Donbass by force. DPR People’s Council deputy Alexander Kamyshov commented on such statements.
“The Head of the Department for Introducing Reserve Service of the Mobilization Directorate of the Chief Personnel Directorate of the AFU General Staff, Colonel Mikhail Shcherbina bragged that the AFU can cleanse the territory of the DPR and LPR in two to three weeks, provided that the Russian army will not intervene.
Apparently the Colonel forgot how the DPR and LPR militia, which has now become the People’s Militia, smashed regular units of the AFU on all fronts. And now he is going to tell that the AFU will cleanse Donbass in a matter of days. Judging by such statements, Zelensky’s assistants are preparing another escapade to escalate the conflict, possibly resorting to a forceful scenario. I can say with confidence that in this case the AFU’s aggression will face the fiercest response and the opportunists from the new president’s team will suffer a severe defeat,” the deputy pointed out.
