A rally to honour another 102nd anniversary of the founding of the Donetsk–Krivoy Rog Soviet Republic was traditionally held in central Donetsk, near the monument to famous Bolshevik F. A. Sergeyev (Artyom) today, on February 12. According to the correspondent of the Official Website of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the event was organized by the Donetsk Republic Public Movement.

“One hundred and two years ago, our ancestors made a choice in favour of self-determination, independence, and declared that their Homeland was Russia, and they would part ways with the nationalistic Kiev. Indeed, the history of the Donetsk–Krivoy Rog Republic was short, but outstanding. And today, a century later, we have made our ancestors’ dream come true and established the Donetsk People’s Republic,” Vladimir Bidyovka, the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, said.
“Today we draw certain historical parallels between the Donetsk-Krivoy Rog Republic and our Republic. Bearing in mind lessons from history, we are well aware that without them it will be impossible to pave a path to our historical Motherland — Russia!” Alexey Muratov, the Head of the Donetsk Republic PM’s Central Executive Committee, concluded.
It is important to note that the event began with a delay due to an emergency.
“Let us not forget that we live in a state at war, and people’s safety is a priority to us. A certain threat emerged, therefore, a need arose to run a check and make sure that the situation was not dangerous,” Alexey Muratov commented.
